Berwick Duval has been admitted to practice law in Louisiana since 1982, and has practiced in Houma, LA since that time. He is presently a shareholder of Duval, Funderburk, Sundbery, Lovell & Watkins, a Professional Law Corporation. Mr. Duval has also argued cases before state courts of appeal in Louisiana; the Louisiana Supreme Court and the United States Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit. Mr. Duval serves on various state and local boards and commissions, and has been awarded the Terrebonne Parish's highest civic award, the "Most Useful Citizen Award" for 2007.
Mr. Duval is passionate about saving Louisiana's coastal wetlands. He is a native of Terrebonne parish, and an avid outdoorsman. He has watched Terrebonne's southern marshes disappear, and is active in many other conservation groups, including Coastal Conservation Association and Restore or Retreat. He is also vice chairman of the Foundation for Louisiana, which is a statewide philanthropic organization set up after Hurricane Katrina, and a member of the Governor's Advisory Commission on Coastal Restoration and Conservation.
