"Accord for a New Sustainability for America's Energy Coast"

AEC brought together leaders of academia, industry, national conservation and environmental organizations, and policy makers to ensure that voices of the region are heard and their contributions recognized to create a balanced national dialogue on America's sustainable energy and environmental future. Those participating in the AEC initiative presented four-state "Accord for a New Sustainability for America's Energy Coast" on July 24, 2008.

The Accord is an step toward solutions to sustain an invaluable landscape and the nationally important activities that take place there. The Accord will identify and prioritize specific actions, including policies, best management practices and technological solutions that can be implemented to move toward a more sustainable coast and a more secure domestic energy supply.  Riding the Rim

Terry Forrette is working to change the world - or at least his piece of it - one mile at a time. A long-time motorcycle rider, Terry is combining his passion for motorcycle touring with his concern for the disappearing Louisiana's wetlands into a new project called "Riding the Rim."

In celebration of Earth Day 2007, Terry embarked on a 3 month, 12,000 mile motorcycle tour around the perimeter of the contiguous 48 States to raise funds and awareness to help restore Louisiana's coast - an area known as America's WETLAND. Riding the Rim Page.
