ABOUT THE PAINTING
Completed in 2007, Louisiana Love Song was painted with an aggressive style of staccato strokes, attacking his canvas without sketches or plans. Robinette uses large brushes and always paints with musical inspiration. "Louisiana Love Song" was inspired by the music of Tab Beniot, a Louisiana musician, who also has a strong commitment to wetlands restoration and preservation. The painting is valued at $5,000.00 for the purposes of this auction. Other paintings from the same artist are being sold for $7,500.00.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Garland Robinette is well known to many for his 20-year television career at WWL television and his daily talk show on WWL Radio in New Orleans. His career as an artist has paralleled his broadcast career. In 1987, the Archdiocese of New Orleans asked Garland to create a poster to commemorate the visit of Pope John Paul II to the city. He spent two days with His Holiness in New Orleans making sketches for the Pope's portrait and subsequent poster. Robinette's paintings are on public and private display throughout the world.

ABOUT THE FOUNDATION
The America's WETLAND Foundation runs the America's WETLAND Campaign, the largest, most comprehensive public education campaign in the State's history, was launched to raise public awareness of the impact of Louisiana's wetland loss on the state, nation and world. The initiative is supported by a growing coalition of world, national and state conservation and environmental organizations and has drawn private support from businesses that see wetlands protection as a key to economic growth.

ABOUT THE AMERICA'S WETLAND CONSERVATION CORPS
The proceeds from the sale of "Louisiana Love Song" will benefit the America's WETLAND Conservation Corps (AWCC). The AWCC is a partnership between the America's WETLAND Campaign and LSU AgCenter. The AWCC is AmeriCorps program, supported by a grant from the Louisiana Serve Commission in the Office of Lt. Governor Mitchell J. Landrieu, and donations from America's WETLAND sponsors.
